Does it usually take so long for memories to return from 'barge amnesia?' [There's a bark from the background, and some quiet shuffling sounds when T'Pol steps away to shush the dog; more barking ensues. She's awesome with canines. :|]

Are there any methods that would increase recovery speed?

I have spoken with your inmate, and am curious as to what possible help he could provide me regarding my memory. He informed me that he is waiting for your permission, however. May I ask why you have not given him it?

Well, comrade, I've been trying to look into the answers to both those questions, but I don't think I am allowed to further question on the matter until I've had approval from some other parties.

But I think I can inform you what I have learnt from helping another comrade, if you want?

He's still suffering from it, unfortunately, and I haven't noticed a distinctive pattern of how long it takes to recover - but I've been trying to help him by presenting him with things that he couldn't deny were related to experiences here. I got somewhere by writing to him in a language I'd taught him, by explaining concepts only I was capable of explaining to him, and by persuading him to do things with me that he'd done before; as reference points, if you will.

You might want to try that, comrade, if it's a friend of yours. If it's yourself, you might want to find someone who says they knew you and ask them to do the same.

Again, I won't ask any questions because I think my warden would object at the moment.

Only because I've been trying to arrange looking into this properly, and she wants me to talk to another warden before I do so.

The dog is intent upon sleeping on my bed, despite my efforts to dissuade him. My memory has failed to be more cooperative.

[And after a short, slightly uncomfortable pause:] Lieutenant, are there any...stories that you can recall, that may help me remember my time here?

I have a story, but it's not a particularly happy memory.

Several months ago, there was a flood in which we seemed to cross over with another dimension, another reality. This one seemed to take the form of the Barge in reverse, with its inhabitants there, too. Wardens were "bad" and inmates were "good" and the goal of the warden was to corrupt the inmates.

Does that make sense?

Given what I've seen of the barge thus far, it doesn't seem to be out of the realm of possibilities.

You were affected by this flood, but the inmates brought you to their side somehow. I don't know. There was a riot and we met just outside the dining hall. Can you remember what happened?

No-- [She cuts herself off and is silent for a long while; when she talks again, she sounds confused, and maybe a little frustrated.] Our uniforms were different.

[She sucks in a breath, waiting.]

Yes. What else?

[T'Pol's going to have a massive headache after this.] We spoke. I was waiting for - for something.

[And another long pause.] We were armed.

We were, yeah. Do you remember the ultimate conclusion to that?

I- [She cuts herself off, hesitates, and breathes in sharply. Aristotle starts barking again.]

No. [She isn't denying remembering, though.] That is not - no.

Commander...

[She is using that dog as an excuse now, trying to get him to quiet down. He whines, though, all kinds of tuned in to her distress.]

I could not have-- [She goes silent again, and the dog's quiet, too.]

I killed you.
