[And because she's a master of...not really talking all that much, she's heading for the pub.]

[Who needs talking. Your mouth is much better used to consume liquor. Kirk meets her up there, sliding into the seat next to her with a practiced grace.]

[She glances up at him, a glass of wine in front of her and, not very far away, the small bowl of chocolates. She has a feeling she might need them.]

He isn't from eight years in my past. It's a small consolation. [She's actually kind of happy he's on board, just. At the same time really upset.]

[Kirk honestly meant to ask her about it when he came on board but then the whole movie thing had thrown him for a loop.]

"When is he from then?"

[They've got crazy things to deal with.]

[Probs not unless McCoy told him. But that gets a very wtf filled look.]

No. Of course not. Why would I want you to punch him?

"You're eying that chocolate, so you're obviously upset. And I'm oddly protective of people I like."

[That gets an eyebrow quirk, but it fades and she falls silent for a long moment.]

He is arriving after a very...difficult time. And since then, Enterprise has gone to war. I'm...uncertain.

[If she's looking for advice, Kirk sucks at it.]

"Well. What do you want from him?"

[A honeymoon. But ahaha not sharing that.] I don't know. [But she's glancing at him because he's a captain but he isn't HER captain, so.] I want to comfort him.

"Why don't you?"

A year is still along time in difference, Jim.

"True. But if you really care about him, then you can suck it up and comfort him if that's what he needs."

[Okay, well. Good point Jim, you win this round. So time for a subject change.]

I saw you told him about Vulcan.

I have, many times. They feel... overwhelming. Though not many minds are stronger than mine.
