Centuries a go, Vulcans worshipped many gods. They were extremely superstitious. They fought amongst each other, with weapons of increasing power, until they nearly destroyed themselves. It is likely those Vulcans believed in magic and the work of their gods.

During the Time of Awakening, they saw that the only path that did not lead to destruction was through logic. Superstitions and paranoia were suppressed. Religion, for the most part, has faded. Logic says that magic is just unexplained scientific phenomenon.
