I require someone to remove all the dreamless sleep potions from Severus Snape's room. Resistance may occur; if it does, please inform me as to the extent. He will be punished for it. He is not capable of performing harmful spells, but has stated that he has no intention of relinquishing these items.

It can be done. What do these potions look like and what would you like me to do with them when I have taken them?

I cannot believe I am policing actual witchcraft.

security and he just included merlin.

Very well. About how many do you think there are? Is he likely to have hidden them somewhere with magical protection? Can he do that? I may have to get Merlin to help if that is the case.

What sort of resistance is he capable of or likely to use given that he has no aggressive magic?

In which case, I will at least consult him on this matter.

I should be able to find something if he's hidden it with magic.

...

Do you mind me asking why he won't give them back?

...oh.

Are they bad for him? I don't really see what's wrong with not wanting to dream.

And you're absolutely sure he won't give them over to you? Because I doubt he'll be any more inclined to give them over to us, aside from the fact we have the use of force on our side.

Right. And you had no means of further persuading him on the matter?

I'm just making sure of the situation I'll find myself in here, that is all.

I've had a word with him. He doesn't know why you want to take them and, um. Neither do I, to be honest. If he has bad dreams and needs a draught to sleep properly then I don't really get what's wrong with that.

Oh. Why didn't you just tell him that? Because...no offence, but that chat you had with him kind of makes it sound like you're taking them off him just to piss him off, not because you're worried about him getting ill. I mean, if someone had said all that to me I'd be a bit funny about it too and I'm not really an awkward person.

Even so, I'd rather all possible methods of persuading him and explaining the situation to him were used before I attempt to use force.

You do have my word that I will help you, if necessary. But I'd rather not have to go down there and explain to him why you're doing what you're doing when you're the one that wants it done. So I think Merlin has a point that a little more care and consideration in questioning was probably needed, because he is human.

But also, I think you've got a very valid point that nobody should really need a potion or anything to knock them out, and it can't be good for someone to do so.

If and when neither of you can persuade him, then I will try.

We've had a chat. He'll give me his Dreamless Sleep potions as long as I look after them, and he'd like something done about how someone broke into his room and took something of his. Which...seems fair to me, because that's not really on, is it?

I...

Oh, I'm aware of the circumstances. Sort of. In a passing sense. I'll go and have a word with him, I suppose.

I will make it my personal business to look into the circumstances surrounding what was agreed upon at the time, how they were carried out, and whether this was a reasonable agreement or not. I will see if the matter could have been handled more fairly and diplomatically and ensure that the team know that anything undue or unfair shall not be tolerated again. The difficulty is, with such an emergency situation, that often anything which seems like a solution is grasped at. I shall pass on the concerns to Angel upon his return.

I shall also talk to your inmate. And apologise if necessary.
