I am setting up a project in the laboratory, to study the floods we so frequently encounter. I also plan to make a regular and continuous study of the space around us as we pass through; assistance will be required for both projects. If anyone is interested and willing, I would be grateful.

I would suggest, too, that those looking to work in the lab establish such projects as well, so we know who will be making use of the area for what reason, and when. Inmates are free to propose projects as well - but they will be observed or aided by wardens, to avoid any...unfortunate mishaps.

(((I don't think we ever came to a real conclusion regarding the lab, so I'm just gonna go ahead and put forth what sort-of conclusion we seemed to reach. Uh, and if someone beat me to the punch and I missed it, well. I will take a failstamp.)))

I would like to continue my forensic work, including collecting samples from ports to compare them to existing samples. If anyone wants to assist me, they would have to have prior training.

[Just trying to be friendly you ice queen. Trip stares at her for a moment, before the tension in his shoulders gives and he starts walking down the hall.]

"You been here nine months and you didn't know this was here?" [C'mon, T'Pol. He's been here like three weeks. But he's also kind of a dork and has been scouring the place to try and understand it better.]

[And she has no idea what a cue is, but she'll make a decent guess and grab one of the sticks, looking toward Trip. Now what?]

[Good guess, now wait while Trip racks the balls. That might not be the right verb but you get the idea.]

Not as humans do. I have a kal-toh set in my quarters. [She'll just. Stand here awkwardly holding the cue in both hands. Horizontally. Because wtf.]

"What's kal-toh?" [Trip gets everything in place and then turns to look at her. Yeah she doesn't know what's going on, so he'll just demonstrate how to take a shot first for her.]

[Yeah, don't ask her to break. She tilts her head, studying how he holds the cue.] It's a puzzle game. The purpose is to use several t'an to form an icosidodecahedron. [And now she's staring at the table.]

Is it my turn?

[Yeah Trip has no idea what the hell she's talking about but that doesn't stop him from saying,] "Maybe you can teach me sometime."

[He gestures at the table with his cue and nods.] "Yeah, I think you can figure it out."

[She doesn't believe he has the patience. But she just arches an eyebrow and inclines her head.] Of course.

[And she's walking around the table, trying to figure out the angles. I JUST REALIZED GREAT GRANNY T'MIR PROBABLY EXPLAINED SOME OF THIS TO HER so she'll make some good guesses. And since a stripe ball. Because it's all math. :>]

[He probably doesn't have the patience. But he still wants to try. Because it's time with you and you are strangely in his head a lot lately. It's not fun.]

"Told you."

[Hey. You're the loser who can't sleep. Not her fault. Sorta.]

If this is a practical attempt to prevent their effects, I will by all means help. If not, I don't really care.

There will need to be a good deal of study before anything practical is put into place. That is, however, my hope for the project.
