Things need to be done aboard the ship, and it is a much preferable way to spend your days. I work in the laboratory; if you have any interest, you could work there as an assistant, as well.

I'm a better cook than anything else, so, I might as well sign up for the kitchen shift if I have to.

I believe humans are fond of a phrase about idle hands.

I believe Mister Maguire is in charge of the kitchen now; I'll discuss it with him, and find a shift for you.
