[She sounds an awful lot like someone who just left this ship. And while T'Pol's trying very hard to keep that voice neutral, this kind of really hurts. But hiding is illogical, so it's time to stop moping. Not that she was moping.]

I am in need of clothes that fit, until this is over. Is anyone willing to accommodate me?

[At the knock on the door, Rusty turns and rushes to open it. When he does, he grimaces sympathetically and steps to the side to give the poor guy room to pass. He nods toward the closet.]

"The clothes are that way."

[Then he looks down at his own clothes. They're maybe a little bit tight in some places, a little bit too eccentric to look "right" on Danny, but he got lucky overall.]

[She keeps her face more neutral than Trip ever did, nodding a thank you as she stepped past him toward the closet. Yeah, Rusty definitely got lucky. T'Pol's kind of tired of becoming a man during floods. It didn't take long to pick out a few items that would fit, and she turned toward Rusty again.]

May I use your bathroom? [Because of she could avoid walking out of here dressed as she was again, she would.]

[He smiles a little, because it is a little funny. To him at least.]

"Of course." [He points to a door to her left and the smile grows. At least he'd never be bored on this barge.]

"For clarification, you were a woman before all this, right?"

[Oh, it's hilarious. She hates everything about it. :| Disappearing into the bathroom for a few minutes, T'Pol came out in his clothes - which fit much better - and her own pajamas folded over her arm.]

Indeed. [It's so annoying that no one recognizes that T'Pol is a very feminine name.] And you were not.

[He nods approvingly at her as she steps out of the bathroom.]

"Big improvement."

[He nods again, this time in confirmation.] "Nope. Definitely male."

[She agreed, but. Probably wouldn't say so. T'Pol just inclined her head again, and quirked one noticeably curved eyebrow upward.] That may change, before long.

[Rusty figured she practiced that whole eyebrow thing.]

"What do you mean by that?"

[Years and years of practice.]

The barge has many floods such as these. The exchange of gender has happened before.

[This calls for an abrupt topic change. Because being a woman doesn't work in to any of his plans.]

So, you're a commander? How's that working for you?

[Eeeeyebrow. She doesn't comment on the subject change, at least.] I have been a member of Starfleet for several years. [It worked pretty well.]

[Oh, the eyebrow says more than enough. Rusty's never felt so judged by a facial feature before. He would ask for tips if he wasn't afraid of being on the receiving end of it again.]

[Wait till there are slanted eyebrows working you over, Rusty. Eyebrows will NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.]

[He nods slowly, maintaining direct eye contact for no other reason than to avoid the eyebrows.]

Hm. This Starfleet must be a pretty big deal.

Crises have arisen, [and that was awkward to say in this body, given everything that had happened to Trip in the Xindi attack] but they have been dealt with well.

[He smiled. She even spoke like a high-ranking officer. Not that he'd met many, but he has watched Independence Day once or twice.]

[And that eyebrow twitched upward again.] That seems true enough.

[She stepped toward the door.] Thank you again for the clothes. I'll return them as soon as this flood is finished.
