Who are the Xindi?

It's approximately fifty light years from Earth, and covered a space of perhaps two thousand light years. It was bordered by thermobaric clouds, and spacial anomalies occurred regularly within it.

[Just pausing a bit while she considers how to approach it.] The Expanse was two thousand light years wide, a large area of space in which the natural laws of physics seemed not to apply. Spacial anomalies can be devastating: disruptions in gravity, brain activity, physical appearance. It is not usually easily fixed, and difficult to a void. Thermobaric clouds made up the perimeter of the Expanse; they are a type of energy formation.

They were led by another race to believe that Earth was a threat to them. They sent a probe that killed seven million people, a prototype to a weapon meant to destroy the planet. We were able to put a stop to it.
