[T'Pol's still in the infirmary. She's been having a pretty hard time with it, not that she'd say so. But there are plenty of little clues. Like the way she's tossing and turning in bed. Vulcans don't usually dream. Thus, no tossing and turning. But she's just about managed to kick off the covers, before waking with a very short, very sharp gasp. Nightmares are not logical or natural and she's sitting straight up in bed, clutching her IDIC.]

(((It's the anniversary of her daughter's death and she gets shitty dreams. :< Hard times, T'Pol. Anyone in the infirmary's welcome, multiple threads are rad, etc etc. <3)))

[Sexby vaguely remembered the relationship between green blood and 'vulcan', so nodded,] Do they not? Ah. I can see why it would be so disturbing, then. [He hesitated himself for a moment,] The sort of memory you want to talk about, or the sort I should leave well alone? [Sexby didn't really see the value in talking things through, but if she did, he would go along with it. Besides, he was quite curious as to what would make someone who didn't dream dream.]

[Sexby sits up a little at that admission and nods solemnly,] I see. I did not know you had a daughter. Excuse me for asking, but is that the problem, madam? Do not answer if you do not wish to do so. [Sexby and Angelica never talked about her son, with good reason.]

[Sexby faltered in knowing what to say, just like he'd faltered in knowing the exact words to say to Angelica.] I... I am so sorry, madam. I know those words seem weak, but you have my greatest sympathy. That is a terrible thing for anyone to suffer.

[He paused, not sure what to say again, but then cautiously asked,] What was her name?

[identity profile] accountsettled.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sexby paused and smiled a little to himself, remembering the only person he knew who was called Elizabeth,] It is a very good name indeed. I once knew a very strong woman of that name. How old was she?

[identity profile] accountsettled.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sexby felt something between a pang of sympathy and rememberance for what had happened to Angelica,] That's terrible, I cannot... [He then paused, because something she'd said was off.] Forgive me for asking the obvious question, but weren't you there when she was born?

[identity profile] accountsettled.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Sexby blinked a little, as he didn't understand that.] I see. Meaning you... were not involved. I do not understand any more, but very well.

[He paused and then asked, much quieter,] What happened? Again, do not answer if you do not wish to.

[Sexby didn't understand a lot of the words she was saying, but a long time ago, on the Master's prompting, he'd read a few books on biology so followed a little better than he normally would.]

That... Good Lord, that's terrible. To treat people like experiments to demonstrate something... that is a abhorrent thing to do. I am sorry you were, and she was, a victim of that.

[identity profile] accountsettled.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Sexby nodded solemnly and looked down at his hand for a moment,] If... I know I am limited here, but if there is anything I can do, do tell me. I shall do my best, madam.

[He gave her a slight nod,] Most welcome, Commander. I hope you get some sleep, yes?

At least make up for it sooner rather than later, then. [T'Pol seemed very sensible, so he had no doubt about that, really.]
