T'Pol

[See T'Pol. See T'Pol kind of smiling, in her own way. It's all in the eyebrows. But she looks a whole lot less lineface than normal. Apparently mistletoe is kind of like the space rocks she smoked for a while Trellium-D, hopefully without the added side effect of killing her slowly. In the background, there's some quiet jazz music playing. ]

It's curious. We felt the same urge to write to this Santa Claus figure last year, but I've never felt personally inclined until now. Is there a legend linking Santa to mistletoe? I imagine there must be something.

[She isn't humming, but it looks like she could start at any minute. Scary, man. While T'Pol's looking thoughtful, though, her very curious cat jumps into her lap to sniff at her PADD, but he loses interest when T'Pol picks him up. Cuddling with a cat while in public view? Not normal T'Pol behavior. She's just pausing to listen to the music for a moment.]

Earth traditions never fail to intrigue, it seems. [And she turns up the volume just a bit before clicking off the video.]

Private letter to Santa for Agent K, Una, Tosh, Merlin, Paddy, Data, the Seventh Doctor, the EMH Doctor, Snape, the Borg Queen, Sam Winchester, and Jim Kirk )

[Today, in addition to being glassy and constricted, T'Pol's eyes are red. She's been crying, and she really isn't trying to hid it.]

Seems like our numbers keep fluctuating. Can't blame 'em, not really. Everyone's got to do what's best by them. It'll be safer out there for some, but - if I'd known I could come here before I did, I - I wouldn't have come alone.

[She looks away, eyes wet again. She's going to be so ashamed of this once things are back to normal. Running a hand through her hair, she laughs a little, shaking her head. A syrette is visible in the corner of the screen, on the dresser in front of her; a spoon is nearby.]

Can't please everyone, I guess.

(((So that mysteeeerious past of T'Pol's involves having stones thrown at her and losing her daughter before finding a home in the carnival. With Angie and John going, and Kirk talking about taking his family and going, she's using up her morphine pretty fast to deal with it.)))

[Here we have a long haired woman, wearing a dark purple bandanna around her head; it doesn't cover her pointed ears. Her eyes are glassy, and she looks very, very serious. And high.]

I sense many secrets in this town. Many hidden thoughts and emotions. Some may be dangerous. Yes, very dangerous indeed. Mind reading can reveal many secrets, even those you have from yourself.

[And she's falling silent, gazing off camera for a moment. Before, oh yeah, advertising.] My mystical mind reading will reveal everything, but beware: sometimes everything is more than you bargained for.

(((So T'Pol's been with the carnival for almost a decade now, under pretty mysterious circumstances. She showed up mysteriously, never really gave a story, and never really will. She does mind reading, which is really just mind melds, and, oh yeah, she has a morphine addiction. And she's pretty high. And mind melds are a great way to get a contact high.)))
